The Shankbone of a Lamb
and the Fourth Cup

THE SHANKBONE. The final element on the Seder plate is the shankbone of a lamb. In Exodus 12, God instructed the Jewish people to roast and eat a lamb, being careful not to break a bone of the lamb’s body. Unfortunately, many Orthodox Jewish people disregard these instructions today. By ignoring God’s ancient commands, they lose the picture God was painting of His own Passover Lamb.

THE FOURTH CUP, “the cup of Praise.” The significance of this final cup points to the fourth “I will” statement in Exodus 6:7, “I will take you as My people, and I will be Your God . . .” The day is coming when the nation of Israel will realize whom they have rejected, and will receive Yeshua HaMashiach—Jesus—as their long-awaited King Messiah.
